For Warm & Happy Winters

People prefer to be warm. We feel the most comfortable at around 20°C. When the temperature drops below that, the body has to work to feel comfortable and stay healthy. Luckily, there is a series of small tricks to protect ourselves against the cold and also make the winter months more enjoyable:

Heat from the outside

Want to enjoy the outdoors but rather cozy up to a warm fire? How about doing both! To stay comfortable outside in cold weather, new generation outdoor fire are becoming very popular. They come in many different designs, from modern to rustic in both metal and stone. Like a grill, you can fill them with coal and charcoal, as well as wood. You can even find pre-processed wood logs with wicks that are as easy to light as candles. Throw a few marshmallows on a stick, hot chocolate in hand and you’re ready to go!

Warmth from within

When cold and moisture does get into your bones, then warmth from within is required. During outdoor activities, make sure you bring along good old Thermos! Many of them can be used not just for hot tea or hot chocolate, but also for hot soups and broths. Hot food is also an excellent energy supplier, giving you strength to stay warm in an additional way – by moving around. Lengthen your playground season a bit and delight your children by bringing along a hot snack or give yourself a warm boost during a winter hike.

Protect your skin

Your face and extremities get the worst of the winter and are the first areas of your body to start feeling cold. Always make sure to keep them protected with scarves, gloves and warm socks to keep your whole body warmer, longer. Moreover, cold weather leads to dry skin so make sure to use a heavier moisturizer in the winter to keep skin smooth and hydrated. Try SOS Hand Cream for dry, chapped hands and Rich Moisturizing Day Care for your face.
